（1）less是little 的比較級。
（2）to live on不定式短語，在此句中作land 的定語，意為“可居住的”。起形容詞的作用，在英語中，動詞不定式作后置定語，修飾前面的名詞或代詞時，他們之間構(gòu)成邏輯上的動賓關(guān)系，若動詞為不及物動詞，要在其后加相應(yīng)的介詞。
