　　i got to know him personally when he was taking the course " introduction to electromechanical integration ", a course i taught, concerning basic research methods, and only one course was required to write a report to score in all academic courses. this report requires that students study and analyze lots of materials and draw a conclusion, then make report. mr.x showed great aptitude and gained a mastery of ability of studying, analyzing, and concluding on this course. at the end of the semester, he earned a high grade of 90. in my view, he had the well analytical skills in his age that i have ever supervised.

　　to my knowledge, mr. x is strong not only in academics, but also in sports and social activities. he was the captain of the football team of department and led the team to compete with the teams of other departments in the football league of our university for two years. he was also one of four dialectician of department to compete argument match.

　　by the way, you may wonder why his undergraduate scores look not so good compared to other chinese applicants. it is easy to explain,because of the difficulty of the test papers and strict grading of our department. in addition, he spent more time in computer skills including software, hardware and network. i once worried about it, but when i knew he designed and set lan of our department dorm as the one of main members and also passed all test and got microsoft mcse certificate, he was the only one pass it in our department and even in our university very few student could pass it in that time. i thought he probably had more capability in computer science.even now, he still ranked among the top 20% of his class after the four year of undergraduate study.
