　　有時根據(jù)不同的語境，也可能使用不同的介詞。比較：

　　He’s absent from Beijing. 他外出了，不在北京。

　　He’s absent in Beijing. 他外出了，現(xiàn)在北京。

　　另外，有時 be absent in還可表示“不在……里”（尤其對于那些不會動的東西），如：

　　The word is absent in the dictionary. 這本字典里沒有這個詞。

　　absent用作形容詞有時還表示“心不在焉”“茫然的”等，通常只用作定語。如：

　　He had an absent look on his face. 他臉上露出茫然的神色。

　　而復合形容詞absent-minded，可用作表語或定語，其意為“心不在焉的”“健忘的”。如：

　　He is always absent-minded. 他老是心不在焉。

　　2. 用作動詞時，只用作及物動詞，意為“缺席”，只接反身代詞作賓語。表示“做某事缺席”，其后也接介詞 from。如：

　　He absented himself from the meeting. 他沒有出席會議。

　　Why did you absent yourself from class yesterday? 你昨天為什么沒來上課?
