　　Did you ever want to win first prize in a reading competition? Maybe or maybe not.But how would you feel if you thought you had done really well and then didn't? You would feel really awful…

　　On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.

　　When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. Later, after a few hours had past, it was my turn to walk up to the stage and say my lines. But wait! I looked over and noticed the judge wasn't looking at me- it was if she didn't respect me! We learned how important eye contact is during our assembly.

　　After I finished, the guests gave me great praise. I thought I would have a good mark.Then came the time to give out the certificates. When the person read Frobel ElementaryI thought it was me…..but it was my classmate Cindy. She had received second place. Then they read the first prize and I was disappointed it wasn’t me. I was very sad…… but……

　　I must tell everyone in here, when you go to a competition win or lose you shouldn't care. You should care about whether or not you did your best. You need to ask yourself- Did you learn anything for entering this competition? Do you have the courage to read a story to a huge audience?

　　Just remember always try to do your best, and the results will still be beautiful!

　　準(zhǔn)備了好久，終于到了英語比賽的日子了。媽媽帶我去化妝店把我打扮得像個小公主。我約了萬詩琪去給我打氣，我們還接了夏老師一起去看我的表演。

　　到了杭州，我們在賽場內(nèi)看了許多小朋友的表演，他們都很棒，我相信我一定能像他們那樣棒的`。在那里等了好長的時間，終于輪到我了。當(dāng)主持人叫到我的名字時，我的心情一下子緊張起來了。走到臺上我想到了媽媽的話：“把下面的評委當(dāng)成是班里的同學(xué)，他們在聽我領(lǐng)讀英語呢！”想到這兒，我的心情一下子就平靜了下來，順利的表演完了準(zhǔn)備好的節(jié)目。聽到觀眾的掌聲，別提我心里有多高興了。夏老師還夸我的表演很不錯，媽媽也說我的表演非常棒。我克服了我膽小的毛病，以后我會對自己更加有信心。

　　比賽在大家的掌聲結(jié)束了，我?guī)н@喜悅的心情回家了。

　　幾天前，英語老師把我叫到了她的辦公室里說道：“過幾天有個英語書法比賽，你平時書寫不錯去參加吧，回去之后先把本課的課文寫一寫，練練手，下午把寫的拿過來我看一看，指導(dǎo)一下！”我鄭重地點了點頭

　　中午，我一回到家，就飛快地拿出了英語練習(xí)本認(rèn)認(rèn)真真地寫了幾遍，接著選了一張寫的最好的下午到校后交給了英語老師，英語老師細(xì)致地指導(dǎo)了我，比如豎要寫直，行筆手不要抖等，我牢牢記在了心里，接下來的兩天我按照英語老師的指導(dǎo)一遍又一遍地規(guī)范地練習(xí)，我進(jìn)步得很快，我在心里暗暗地想：有付出一定會有收獲！只要努力這次比賽我一定能得一等獎。

　　轉(zhuǎn)眼間到了英語書法比賽的日子，我快速向比賽地點跑去，到了地方，老師一發(fā)下試題，我就不由緊張起來，要書寫的內(nèi)容很多，(有十個單詞，和很長一段話）可又有什么辦法呢？我只能耐下性子來好好寫，剛剛寫了一個開頭，我就開始手心出汗，又往下寫了還不到一半，我已經(jīng)全身大汗淋漓，我急得像熱鍋上的.螞蟻團(tuán)團(tuán)轉(zhuǎn)，心想：這樣緊張下去，比賽肯定無法取得一個好成績，不行，我得調(diào)整情緒，不能太緊張了。于是我連著深呼吸了幾下，盡量把字寫得不那么歪歪扭扭，眼看快收卷了，我硬著頭皮把考題寫完交了上去。交上去后，我想：這次可算是寫砸鍋了，想拿一等獎是不可能了！不一會兒老師們便改完了試卷，評出了一、二等獎，開始發(fā)獎狀了，老師先念了二等獎的人，但沒有我的名字，一種恐懼迅速蔓延了我的全身，我是不是因為寫得太爛而沒有獲獎？我總不能得一等獎吧？我越想越害怕，這時老師念到了獲一等獎的同學(xué)，竟然念到了我！我萬萬沒想到我竟然是一等獎！我太開心了。

　　我知道我的書寫還有很大的進(jìn)步空間，借著這次機(jī)會，我還會更努力地把字寫好！

　　媽媽為我們設(shè)定了比賽規(guī)則：比賽分為筆試和口試。第一名三元錢，第二名二元錢，第三名一元錢。霄霄哥哥興致高漲，迫不及待地想看看題目。我胸有成竹地坐在沙發(fā)上看書。洋洋哥哥聽了心里直打鼓。比賽開始了，霄霄哥哥側(cè)著身子，把“卷子”放在桌子底下，以免被洋洋哥哥偷看。洋洋哥哥在一旁抓耳撓腮，眼睛不時地瞟一眼霄霄的“卷子”。我躲在一個房間里飛快的做完了自己的題目。我忐忑不安地拿給媽媽改分，心像小兔子一樣“碰碰”直跳。我的分?jǐn)?shù)出來了，是九十五分，這是因為粗心的`我把Tuesday寫成Tuseday了。雖然如此，我還是松了口氣。因為兩個哥哥成績都沒我好�？谠嚨臅r候所有的題目都很簡單，大家全得了滿分。于是我得了第一名。我高興得眉開眼笑，身體里的“小白兔”好像也在為我高興呢！

　　The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium. By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled.

　　The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start.

　　Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. There is a rest period between the halves.

　　During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other.

　　The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win. The ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. The whistle blew and the game was over. Home team won, 70 to 68.

　　老師通知我今天下午去迎澤區(qū)少年宮參加英語口語比賽，我和媽媽中午一點半就從家中出發(fā)了，天氣真熱呀！

　　一走進(jìn)大門就看見許多同學(xué)在排隊，我拿著參賽證報了到，一位老師把我安排在最前面，我看了看周圍，有的同學(xué)拿著稿子在那兒讀，看著他們那樣，我也默默地把稿子在心中念了一次，然后邁著沉重的腳步到了參賽大廳，上一組的同學(xué)出來，我們這一組就開始了，只見我前面的同學(xué)讀的很流利，我很緊張，生怕自己中間卡了殼。輪到我上場了，我的緊張就像一陣風(fēng)一樣飄走了，我大方地走上臺，開始講述我的演講稿，我講的也很流利，還加了幾個動作，說完后還和評委說了謝謝。評委老師根據(jù)我的'內(nèi)容用英語向我提問三個問題，我也用英語回答了老師，從評委老師臉上的表情看他們對我感覺很好。

　　明天就可以在網(wǎng)上查我成績了，我希望能進(jìn)入復(fù)賽，然后進(jìn)入決賽。

　　媽媽的話：睿參加是第六屆全國英語口語大賽山西選拔賽，準(zhǔn)備的不是很充足，老師一共輔導(dǎo)了兩次，我們就在家讓睿多練習(xí)，前一段時間要期末考試就沒怎么管，也不知道什么時候比賽，老師通知比賽我們才管了管，上去自我感覺還不錯，今天電話通知睿進(jìn)入了復(fù)賽，7月8、9號比賽，我覺得已經(jīng)很不錯了，不管能否進(jìn)入決賽已經(jīng)不重要了，重要是過程，讓孩子體會一下比賽過程我覺得比拿獎更為的重要。
