Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.
Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people's lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution ?

有一次，我們一家人到奶奶家去吃晚飯，我們都津津有味地吃著美味的飯菜，我吃完后，發(fā)現(xiàn)手特別臟，便進(jìn)了洗手間去洗了把手。突然看到一個(gè)大型的臉盆正在接著從水龍頭里慢慢滴下來的水，那時(shí)水已經(jīng)滴了臉盆的一半了，我便立刻去問了奶奶：“奶奶，你怎么不關(guān)水龍頭呢?那樣很浪費(fèi)水的呀!我把它關(guān)了吧!”“不用，不用。”奶奶笑著說，“那是我是故意開著的.，盛點(diǎn)水總是要用的呀，對(duì)吧�！蔽冶銢]有說什么，過了幾分鐘后，我又去了一趟洗手間，我看了看里面，只見那個(gè)臉盆早就已經(jīng)裝滿了，水都已經(jīng)嘩嘩地?fù)涑鰜砹�，便�?duì)奶奶說：“奶奶臉盆里的水裝滿了!”“那你把水龍頭關(guān)一下吧�！蹦棠陶f。我心想：在撲出來的幾分鐘里，也不知浪費(fèi)了多少的水啊!
