I came to know this resourceful and energetic young man in XXXX when he, leading his team, was preparing for the Clinical Skills Contest in our university. I became his advisor and instructed him in physical examination. During that time, he excelled himself as a learner and leader. Although he hadn’t learned Diagnostics by that time, he managed to master the procedure of physical examination proficiently via his intelligence, determination and diligence. Rather, he holds the belief that an extraordinary doctor must have outstanding clinical skills and this became the very reason why he seized the opportunity to improve himself in the contest. In addition, Mr. XXX is always the leader in the heat of action. He is able to call on his colleagues to do what is needed to achieve the goal of the whole team using his com#prehensive understanding of the situation and his power to influence people. In his preparation for the contest, he formulated a detailed plan for the team, introduced efficient strategy and arranged for intensive practice. Subsequently, his team worked in harmony and got really good results.
Mr. XXX also participated in the Scientific Research Design Contest for Undergraduate Students under my direct supervision. He revealed himself as a meticulous and passionate person in designing his subject on diabetic nephropathy. Despite his insufficient lab experience and statistical knowledge that time, he still referred to the library and the internet to boost his capacity in that area, which turned out to be quite a success, because he finally put forward a feasible and highly-valued hypothesis concerning the potential mechanisms of miRNA-146 in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy.
